Synopsis (Found on Goodreads.com)

It’s said that women and men are from two different planets when it comes to communication, but how can they overcome the obstacles of prehistoric times when one of them simply doesn’t have the ability to comprehend language?

Ehd’s a caveman living on his own in a harsh wilderness. He’s strong and intelligent, but completely alone. When he finds a beautiful young woman in his pit trap, it’s obvious to him that she is meant to be his mate. He doesn’t know where she came from; she’s wearing some pretty odd clothing, and she makes a lot of noises with her mouth that give him a headache. Still, he’s determined to fulfill his purpose in life provide for her, protect her, and put a baby in her.

Elizabeth doesn’t know where she is or exactly how she got there. She’s confused and distressed by her predicament, and there’s a caveman hauling her back to his cavehome. She’s not at all interested in Ehd’s primitive advances, and she just can’t seem to get him to listen. No matter what she tries, getting her point across to this primitive, but beautiful, man is a constant and often hilarious struggle.

With only each other for company, they must rely on one another to fight the dangers of the wild and prepare for the winter months. As they struggle to coexist, theirs becomes a love story that transcends language and time.

My Review:

This book has done what few others have.........made me cry.

I absolutely love EVERYTHING about this book!

Ehd is a caveman and he has lost his tribe. While checking on one of his hunting pits he finds a woman in the pit with strange clothes on her body and the sounds she makes with her mouth gives him headaches. However he decided to bring her back to his cave and make her his mate. The story is a story of love between two different people. One could talk and one couldn't but they found ways to communicate to have a life together.

Elizabeth, or "Beh" as Ehd calls her, is brought back in time to prehistoric times and ends up in Edh's pit. At first she is scared of him and it takes her awhile to realize he can't speak. Since she has no idea where she is, she relies on him to provide for her and keep her safe. After awhile she begins to love him. I do admire Beh, in the way that she learns to adapt to her surroundings. While she is scared, she does her best to make the situation better. She continues to do some things that she would do in modern times, like bathing frequently and brushing her teeth with mint leaves. She also makes Ehd do these things also. In time she learns to cook, to make pottery and built herself a life with Edh. She continues to talk to Ehd and herself, even though she knows he can't answer. Even when given the chance to return to her time, she chooses to stay with Ehd because of her love for him. She really is an extraordinary person.

I loved Ehd so much! He's the best kind of man- hes strong, good looking, willing to do anything for his mate, is apparently great in bed and he doesn't talk so he can't argue! All joking aside, he is a great character. The entire story is from his point of view, so we see how much he truly cares for Beh. Ehd's first instinct is to have sex with her and start a family almost immediately but as their time together goes on he realizes that even if he couldn't "put a baby" in Beh, he still wanted her with him because he loved her. He couldn't really say it and understand what it means but he showed his love with is actions. He is very sweet to her and very protective of her. Everything he does is for her. He melted my heart. And I couldn't get over how hot he was. :D

The romance between them is beautiful. They teach each other things and learn from one another. Sometimes their interactions are funny and made me laugh. It was very cute when Ehd had to woo Beh because she wouldn't have sex with his right away like he wanted too. Once they did have sex, both of them had to learn about each other's bodies and what each of them liked or didn't like. Apparently Ehd was awesome at sex because they had it A LOT. Aside from sex, the love between these two was powerful and I felt its power as I was reading it. Beh and Ehd comforted each other, they worked together to survive and they would do anything for each other. The ending was beautiful and I cried when I read it. It really touched my heart. They truly had an epic love.

This is a beautiful love story, one of my favorite books and I highly recommend it.
