My name is Joanne and I'm a 29 year
old avid reader. I have loved reading since I was a child. My grandmother used
to read to me when I was little. When I got older my mom used to take me to the
library and I used to check out books upon books. Back then you were only
allowed to check out 25 books at a time and I used to fill my card up on every
library trip. My mom then got a job at the library and she used to get me any
books that I wanted. I would just give her a list and she would get the books
or request them.
When I was a kid I used to love (and still do) the Goosebumps Series by R.L. Stine and any Sweet Valley Series by Francine Pascal. I remember her bringing me the new next book of the series every month. Since she worked at the library she got first picks so I read all of my favorite books before anyone else.
When I was in High School my mom went back to college to become a librarian and now she works in the offices in the library. She still gets me any books that I want. She used to get me and my sister our books for college and we were able to keep them throughout our semester.
Once I received my first job, that was when I went crazy with buying books. Now I have over 2000 book in my room. I have been slowly plowing through them but I'm set for reading for basically my whole life. Even with all these books, I'm still on the look out for new books that pique my interest and I have a whole list of new books that are released in 2014 to buy :D.
I read mostly YA books. My favorite genre that I read is paranormal/fantasy. I also like reading Y.A. Historical Fiction and Realistic Fiction.
I'm also a pre-kindergarten teacher and so I read and rate children's books as well. I try to read to my students as much as I could so I can instill the love of reading in them. On this blog I won't be rating or reviewing children's books though but you can find all the children's books I've read on my Goodreads profile.
